Meet Jeffrey Wilde: The Man on Mission to End Prostate Cancer
Jeffrey Wilde was holding his two-year-old son when his doctor called—he needed to be in the office ASAP. The next day, Jeffrey received his diagnosis: he had an aggressive form of prostate cancer.
That was the day Jeffrey’s battle began, and 6 weeks later he underwent surgery to get his prostate removed. Over the following months, he worked his ass off to regain his strength, stamina, and flexibility. Today, at almost 60 years old, Jeffery lives a healthy life. And most importantly, he’s living proof that being proactive about prostate cancer is the key to survival.
“My advice to men is to always be your own advocate,” he says. “If you catch prostate cancer in an early stage, you have nearly a 100% chance of survival.”
Jeffrey was determined to pay it forward. So after moving to North Carolina, he teamed up with ZERO Prostate Cancer to raise money for men to be tested and treated when they don’t have the opportunity.
Now, as the 2024 ZERO Run/Walk approaches, Jeffrey is making his final push to raise $5000 to support patients, survivors, and their families. For every $25 raised, ZERO will be able to provide 3 patients or caregivers with a newly diagnosed guide, and for every $250 raised, they’ll be able to help a patient with personalized assistance through ZERO 360.
